NYCxDesign 2025: Dialogues of Craft, Sustainability, and Influence

Discover NYCxDesign 2025 through THECORE’s lens: Italian showrooms, sustainable design, and curated experiences across New York. A journey of craft, innovation, and global design connections

THECORE reconnects with global voices in luxury and contemporary design through New York’s creative landscape.

As May arrived in Manhattan, design once again claimed the city’s rhythm. NYCxDesign 2025 unfolded not just as a series of exhibitions and openings, but as a living conversation between creativity, identity, and material culture. Across boroughs and disciplines, the city became a canvas - and THECORE returned to document it with the same purpose that carried us from Salone del Mobile in Milan: to tell stories where design and sustainability intersect with soul.

We walked the streets of Soho, Tribeca, and Chelsea with curiosity and intention. Our visits to Italian showrooms, galleries, and independent studios revealed a growing commitment to slow design, architectural clarity, and material honesty. From stone and wood to colored glass and recycled surfaces, what stood out was not extravagance - but intention.

Each visit, whether spontaneous or planned, was an act of connection. Not only with brands but with the broader dialogue that defines NYCxDesign: one rooted in experimentation, diversity, and resilience.

The energy of New York’s design week is always layered - equal parts product launch and cultural pulse. But this year, it felt more unified. There was an unspoken understanding that luxury today means more than beauty - it means responsibility, relevance, and resonance.

For THECORE, this edition was not about covering everything. It was about capturing what matters. The brands shaping future kitchens and bathrooms, lights… the artisans behind timeless textures, and the emerging talents reimagining interior transitions

NYCxDesign is not a pause between global fairs- it is a platform. One that connects Milan to Mexico City, Basel to Brooklyn. And in that spirit, we continue curating encounters that live beyond geography
